These opportunities enabled the teams to bond, build their understanding of leadership, develop skills such as public speaking and listen to a guest speaker, Brian Wightman. Thank you to our Quality Teaching Coach, Emily Lovegrove for undertaking the co-ordination of NAPLAN.Īs part of the Year 10 Student Leaders Retreat on March 2-3, they held a sleepover at school on the Thursday night. Nevertheless, students should attend school as normal and participate to the best of their ability. While the tests provide useful data on a number of levels, it must be kept in perspective as it is only a snapshot of ability and achievement. While I would always encourage every student to do their best on any test or task they undertake, it is not necessary to create unnecessary pressure on students. All students in Years 7 and 9 are required to participate in this on-line testing unless they have been granted a formal withdrawal or exemption. You may recall that the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) was moved to Term 1 and commenced today.

Thanks to Teacher, Glenn Wood for arranging this opportunity. This inspiring event allowed guests to listen to and network with the future leaders and innovators of the construction industry, with a focus on supporting female participation. On Thursday March 2, some of our Year 11/12 students were given the opportunity to attend the Housing Industry Association (HIA) Building Women’s Breakfast at Country Club Resort. I hope that students, staff and families enjoyed the long weekend and were able to spend some time relaxing and doing things that were enjoyable.
